Navajo Nation Council Speaker Crystalyne Curley told the Senate Indian Affairs Committee that 30% of homes on her tribe's lands lack running water, which impedes not only health but farming, tourism, and industrial and economic development for the Navajo. She made the comments the hearing on the government’s trust obligations to ensure water access for tribes.
