Grand Canyon University officials announced on Nov. 16, 2023, the university is appealing a $37.7 federal fine levied against it for misrepresented tuition costs. The U.S. Department of Education issued the fine on Oct. 31 after investigators concluded the university falsely advertised a lower cost than what 98% of students ended up paying to complete certain doctoral programs.
