Solar-industry jobs picture not so sunny in Arizona in 2013, report says

WASHINGTON – Arizona posted the second-highest number of solar-industry jobs in the nation for the second year in a row in 2013, despite losing 1,242 jobs from a year earlier, according to a new report.

Tucson victim of human trafficking shares story, message in Capitol

WASHINGTON – For those who think slavery exists only in history books, Tucson resident Beth Jacobs has a message. “Trafficking does not discriminate. It will find you at home, at church, or on the Internet,” said Jacobs, who said she was forced into prostitution as a teenager. “It can find you anywhere.”

Five Arizonans among 24 people sitting with first lady for State of the Union

Arizonans join Roe v. Wade anniversary protest in D.C.

Bitter cold weather may have canceled the 5K run/walk and slightly decreased expected crowds, but it did little else to dampen the enthusiasm of the estimated hundreds of thousands at Wednesday’s 41st March for Life.

The House last year passed a bill by Rep. Trent Franks, R-Glendale, banning abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy. National pro-life leaders say they are still optimistic about such measures, even though the Supreme Court last week refused to uphold such a law in Arizona. National pro-life leaders undaunted by failure of Arizona abortion law

National Right to Life leaders said Tuesday they are not concerned about the Supreme Court’s refusal to reinstate an Arizona law banning abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy, expressing confidence that similar measures will pass in other states.
