Jamar Younger

Jamar Younger joined State Affairs in 2024 as a senior statehouse reporter for the Arizona Capitol Times. He moved into his current position as editor of the Yellow Sheet Report in November 2025. Younger started his career in 2006 as a reporter with the Arizona Daily Star in Tucson, where he won awards for his contributions to two of the newspaper’s investigative projects. He transitioned to public relations in 2014 but still worked as a freelance writer for a number of publications. His work has appeared in The Arizona Republic, PHOENIX Magazine, Arizona Foothills Magazine and The Conversationalist. Younger is also a past president of the Arizona Association of Black Journalists and has served as adjunct faculty at Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. He is a Philadelphia native who’s lived in Arizona since 2000.
