House lawmakers voted Wednesday to let certain parents bring their loaded guns onto school campuses despite the fact they themselves are protected by rules and a metal detector that keep their armed constituents out.

The Arizona House voted Thursday to make the state the third in the nation to allow people to carry concealed weapons without a permit, sending the governor a bill that would allow Arizonans to forego background checks and classes that are now required.
Brewer signs 22 bills into law, vetoes one
After the first 87 days of the 2010 legislative session, 61 bills had made it to the governor’s desk for a final up-or-down decision. So far, she has signed 22 of them into law and vetoed one.
