Public interest group claims last-minute HOA bill is unconstitutional

The Legislature violated the state Constitution by combining a comprehensive homeowners association bill with a minor elections bill in the last hours of the 2013 session, a public-interest law firm alleges in a lawsuit filed July 16.

The Arizona Conservative Coalition has declared that Brewer has earned the “RINO” label for her vetoes and signings in the recently concluded regular and special sessions. According to the group’s grading system, Brewer only scored 37.9 out of a possible 100.

Brewer to get new policy adviser for public safety

Joseph Cuffari is joining Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer's staff as a policy adviser for public safety. The move was announced Monday by Brewer.
