Latino group to file counter suit in MCCCD tuition case

A Latino legal civil rights organization plans to file a counter suit against the state in its legal challenge to Maricopa County Community College District’s policy of granting in-state tuition to illegal immigrants.

Appeals court upholds reopening of uranium mine near Grand Canyon

A federal appeals court Monday upheld the government’s decision to let a uranium mine near Grand Canyon National Park continue to operate under environmental standards now decades old.

County loses bid to get dismissed from Arpaio discrimination suit

A federal judge has rejected Maricopa County's request to reconsider an earlier decision not to dismiss the county from a lawsuit alleging that Sheriff Joe Arpaio's office carried out a pattern of discrimination against Latinos.
