Newspaper presses Tucson school district to release candidate names

A newspaper is pressing the Tucson Unified School District to release the names and application materials of the candidates it considered for the superintendent's job.

Renzi asks judge to reverse his convictions

Lawyers for former U.S. Rep. Rick Renzi have asked a judge to reverse the former congressman's convictions a month ago on public corruption, money laundering and other charges.

Former US Rep. Renzi convicted on 17 of 32 counts

A federal jury on Tuesday convicted former U.S. Rep. Rick Renzi on more than a half dozen corruption charges accusing him of using his office for personal financial gain and looting a family insurance business to help pay for his 2002 campaign.

Mining executive testifies: Rick Renzi behavior smelled fishy

A former mining company executive has testified it was fishy that then-Congressman Rick Renzi insisted during a 2005 phone conservation that a proposed exchange involving federal land sought by the executive's company needed to include a particular piece of privately owned property.

Details released in probe of teen shot by officer

Tucson police examining an officer's shooting of a 17-year-old boy accused of pulling a gun on the officer as he fled on foot haven't been able to determine whether the boy was involved in an incident that drew the attention of police in the first place.
