The Arizona Court of Appeals has agreed to expedite consideration of Kari Lake's claims that the 2022 election was flawed. But none of that means the judges are going to give her what she wants: either to be installed as governor or require a new election in the state's largest county.

Attorney General Mark Brnovich is demanding answers from Maricopa County about what he said appear to be violations of state election law. In a letter Saturday, his office says it has received "hundreds of complaints'' about how the county administered the general election.

The Arizona Democratic Party is moving to defend elected Republican officials in Maricopa County from a lawsuit filed against them by their own party.

Malfunctioning voting equipment and the lack of a back-up plan led to 62 polling locations opening late for the Aug. 28 primary election, the Maricopa County auditors concluded.

Each vote center will contain e-poll books which are electronic devices similar in size to the Ipad and contain each voter's information and every type of ballot in the county, making it easier for poll workers to identify registered voters.

The House Judiciary Committee on Feb. 3 unanimously passed a measure that will allow Arizona counties to join a growing election trend: creating voting centers.
