The Arizona Capitol Times received three awards at the Arizona Newspaper Association’s 2007 Excellence in Advertising awards presentation held earlier this month in Scottsdale. The contest recognizes the work of advertising departments throughout the state, including ad designers, production personnel and advertising staff.
The Capitol Times competed in the Division 1 non-daily circulation under 3,500 category and received the following awards:
A first place was presented for Best “Pro Bono” Public Service Ad. The ad was for Arizona Association of Industries annual Manufacturer of the Year Awards Dinner and was designed by Production Manager Julie Lanley.
A first place was presented for Best Newspaper Promotion Ad, Series or Section. The ad series was for Legislation On Line Arizona — the bill tracking service known as LOLA — designed by Capitol Reports Coordinator Tracy Keller and Capitol Reports Manager Vince Carbajal.
A second place award was presented for Best Web site Banner Ad. The ad was for Best of the Capitol Mall supplement and was designed by Lanley.
