Bruce Ash has been rather successful in his role as president and CEO of a real estate management and acquisition firm. Now he plans duplicate the success with a new role in the Arizona Republican Party.
Ash was elected Arizona’s Republican National Committeeman June 9 by the state GOP Executive Committee. He steps in to serve out the last six months of chairman Randy Pullen’s vacated term. Pullen was elected to lead the state GOP in January.
“I plan on creating a network of donors, contacts, and supporters,” Ash said. “I believe in developing a strong core of people who believe in what the Republican Party stands for. The folks I’ve talked to are very anxious to see a new face and I consider it to be a tremendous honor to be elected.”
Ash won on a decisive 47-18 vote over Casa Grande businessman Bill Bridwell. Former gubernatorial candidate Don Goldwater got eight write-in votes as well, despite the fact he had been eliminated earlier in the selection process.
“I’m not afraid to take on any of the issues that (Republicans) feel are important,” Ash said. “I have my own style. I generally am able to send a message to the public that is fair, balanced and reasoned. When we go out and send our message to the RNC (Republican National Committee) we will make sure that the Arizona Republican Party is well represented.”
In past years, the Tucson native has served on the Bush/Cheney 2004 Finance Committee, the Kyl 2006 Finance Committee, co-chair of the Graf 2006 Finance Committee, the Kolbe 2004 Finance Committee, and the McCain 2008 Exploratory Committee.
He has also been active in his local community as a board member of the United Way in Tucson, the University of Arizona College of Public Health, and the United Jewish Communities.
He graduated with a real estate and finance degree from the University of Arizona and currently heads Paul Ash Management, which was founded by his father.
