AZ senators reluctant to put Shooter on trial

Democratic Arizona senators, even those once interested in pushing for an ethics hearing into the actions of Sen. Don Shooter at a Yuma charter school earlier this year, now say it’d be a waste of time holding hearings on an issue that police and prosecutors have already dealt with in full.

Shooter trial set for September

Arizona state Sen. Don Shooter is due in Yuma Municipal Court on Sept. 24 on charges stemming from his intrusion at a charter school in March, according to court records.

Yuma police recommend charges against state senator

Yuma police are recommending prosecutors pursue four misdemeanor charges against state Sen. Don Shooter, who heatedly confronted a teacher at a Yuma charter school and later claimed his medically disabled grandson was repeatedly “humiliated and bullied” by his teacher.
