Deputy Chief of Staff Brian McNeil, who announced in September that he would be leaving Gov. Jan Brewer's administration, is staying on the Ninth Floor after all.
Legislative leaders, governor reach agreement on special session
Legislative leaders and the governor have reached an agreement on the framework of a special session later this month. The plan is to fix the budget problems of several agencies that resulted from Gov. Jan Brewer's veto of a budget bill that had contained funding mechanisms for the agencies.
Former OSPB chief to head up AHCCCS
Gov. Jan Brewer replaced one of the last major agency heads left over from the Napolitano era, naming former OSPB chief Thomas Betlach as director of the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System. Betlach had served as deputy director of the agency since 2002. He replaces Anthony Rodgers, who was appointed to the position in 2003 by then-Gov. Janet Napolitano.
