Republicans in Arizona and other parts of the country have handed Democrats an advantage in balloting due to former President Donald Trump's false claims about the risks of mail voting. Conservative conspiracy theorists urged GOP voters to wait until Election Day before casting their ballots and spun tales about how such a strategy would prevent Democrats from rigging voting machines to steal the election.

A lawsuit seeking to strike down mail-in voting had its day in the Court of Appeals today. The suit, filed by the Arizona Republican Party and party chair Kelli Ward against the Secretary of State, county recorders and the state, alleges the decades-old, mail-in early voting system violates the Arizona Constitution as it does not fulfill the provision that “secrecy in voting shall be preserved.” 

Arizona election security officials are changing the way they formulate the voting error margin to create more accuracy amid controversy over ballot counts in previous races.  

A federal judge won't give reservation residents more time to submit their early ballots and ensure they will be counted.

The state’s largest county has a plan to keep tabulating ballots if the Elections Department gets hit with an outbreak of COVID-19 before the November 3 election.

In a deal reached Thursday, two groups who challenged the law will not pursue their claim that it is unconstitutional to refuse to count ballots that have not arrived in the mail by 7 p.m. on Election Day.
