J Allen is taking aim at Robson with H2002 (political signs; removal), which he introduced today. The bill removes the language in ARS 16-1019 that makes it a misdemeanor to remove, alter or deface a political sign “of any candidate for public office” and instead defines a political sign as “a sign that is intended to influence the outcome of an election.”

U.S. Supreme Court to hear pastor’s suit challenging Gilbert ordinance (access required)

The pastor of a small Gilbert congregation says the town government believes political campaign signs are more important than the small placards that give directions to his service.

Attorneys for Clyde Reed, pastor and founder of Good News Presbyterian Church, will now try to convince the U.S. Supreme Court to reverse a 9th Circuit Court of Appeals decision in Gilbert’s favor.
