Arizona News Service has hired John Guzzon as Managing Editor.

Guzzon, a longtime Arizona resident, will oversee the newsroom that produces the Arizona Capitol Times and Yellow Sheet Report. Guzzon brings 25 years of experience as a freelance writer, reporter and managing editor for various publications in Arizona.

“Joining the Arizona Capitol Times is truly a dream come true for me. The machinations of Arizona’s state government are an important factor in the lives of all residents and it’s an honor to lead a great team of dedicated and skilled journalists who work to inform our readers,” Guzzon said.

Guzzon replaces Gary Grado, who moved into the role of Executive Editor.

“John brings decades of experience running newsrooms and writing and reporting and lots of institutional knowledge on the modern era of Arizona politics,” Grado said.

Associate Publisher Michael Gorman said the team is thrilled to have Guzzon join them.

“His deep experience as an editor and understanding of Arizona makes him a perfect fit for the Capitol Times.”

Arizona News Service, which also publishes Legislative Report, Legislative Online Arizona, several specialty publications and produces events, is a subsidiary of BridgeTower Media, a leading provider of local and regional business information, events and marketing services.
