The city of Phoenix begins cleanup in 'The Zone', a downtown Phoenix homeless encampment in Phoenix, Arizona on May 10, 2023. A judge ordered the city to clean up the city's largest homeless encampment that citing it being a 'public nuisance." The residents were given advance notice, and are being relocated into suitable housing. On Sept. 20, 2023, the same judge made the order permanent.
