Forese, Little admit they broke campaign finance laws, slapped with $2K fine

Republican Corporation Commission candidates Tom Forese and Doug Little now admit they broke Arizona’s campaign finance laws, and each has been assessed a $1,000 fine by the Arizona Citizens Clean Elections Commission, meaning the two will avoid a deeper investigation into their campaign finance reports.

Commission votes to enter into penalty settlement discussion with Huppenthal

The Citizens Clean Elections Commission voted o find that there was reason to believe Superindent of Public Instruction John Huppenthal violated the law by using state resources for campaigning. At the same time, the commission voted to enter into penalty settlement discussion with Huppenthal. The terms of the penalties will be reviewed at the next meeting of the commission.

DuVal drove while license was suspended

Fred DuVal’s Arizona driver’s license was suspended for several months this year. A campaign aide would not disclose whether he actually operated a motor vehicle during that period, but other media reports say that he did drive during the roughly four months the license was suspended.
