Former Congressman Jim McNulty dead at 83
Jim McNulty, 83, a former state senator (1969-74) and one-term congressman died yesterday from Parkinson's disease complications, the Arizona Daily Star reports. Mr. McNulty also served on the Arizona Board of Regents and the Board of Education. He was defeated for a second term in Congress in 1984 by Jim Kolbe.

If Gov. Jan Brewer is looking for support for a 2010 run, Rep. Nancy Barto might not be the best person to turn to for support. At a legislative wrap-up breakfast today sponsored by the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce, emcee Chip Scutari asked a panel of Barto, Rep. Chad Campbell and Rep. John Kavanagh whom they thought would be governor in January 2011.

Polls: Voters warm to casinos at dog, horse tracks
Voters seem to favor casinos at horse and dog tracks to increase state revenue, according to poll results obtained by the Yellow Sheet Report. Results from polls that tested 600 likely voters, conducted this month by Public Opinion Strategies and in February by Arizona Opinion, show Arizona voters solidly support such gaming.
