A former Maricopa County prosecutor who was disbarred for her role in pushing three failed investigations of public officials in court plans to appeal the decision to take away her law license.

An attorney for former prosecutor Lisa Aubuchon tells the Arizona Supreme Court on Monday that his client intends to appeal last week’s decision by a three-person attorney disciplinary panel.

The panel that found, in part, that Aubuchon and former County Attorney Andrew Thomas had broken criminal intimidation and perjury laws in knowingly bringing false bribery charges against a judge.

Thomas has maintained he was trying to root out corruption in pursuing cases against the judge and two county officials.

The targets of the investigations say the cases were fabricated.

Thomas faces a Friday deadline for appealing the ruling.
