Retro presidential campaign coming

Arizona Capitol Reports Staff//October 19, 2007//[read_meter]

As a follow-up to the documentary she produced about her grandfather, Barry Goldwater, CC Goldwater and liberal talk radio host Stephanie Miller have recreated the famous 1964 presidential ticket and are bringing the campaign to Phoenix on Oct. 27.
Miller, who can be heard weekday mornings on Air America, KPHX 1480, is the daughter of William Edward Miller, a New York politician who was Barry’s VP running mate.
CC’s mother, Joanne Goldwater, is Barry’s oldest daughter.
CC and Stephanie decided to team up in a campaign to show how the modern Republican Party has abandoned its “Goldwater Roots,” which is the theme of CC’s “Mr. Conservative: Goldwater on Goldwater” documentary, which has aired on HBO.
Their event will be held at Palazzos, 710 North Central from 1-3 p.m.
“This is a great event to bring your Republican friends to … if you have any left,” reads a promotion.
What about the credentials of the “candidates?”
Their slogan is “Family name. No Skills. Just like W.”
