If some state lawmakers get their way, those AA-labeled eggs you find at the store later this year -- and pay a premium for -- may not be as fresh and tasty as they are now.

The Senate killed a bill with some bipartisan opposition– and a hint of bipartisan support– on Monday that would have drastically cut down on zoning restrictions statewide in the sponsor’s hopes of increasing Arizona’s affordable housing supply. 

After much deliberation, senators could not agree on a half-cent sales tax extension proposal to send to the voters, and killed the version proposed to a transportation committee. 

Following multiple razor-thin election results in Arizona, proposals from Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer offer solutions to potentially expedite the vote-counting process. Now, the county must work out the details with the Legislature. 

House Democrats recently completed an investigation of harassment allegations from a male representative, finding no evidence to take any disciplinary action. Rep. Alma Hernandez, D-Tucson, filed a complaint in September alleging that Rep. Brian Fernandez, D-Yuma, had made disparaging comments about her to fellow lawmakers and lobbyists multiple times.
