Public safety officers today seized a suspicious envelope sent to Rep. TJ Shope’s office.
The Coolidge Republican said his assistant was opening correspondence mailed to him related to a social media campaign aimed at increasing the number of menstrual pads for women prisoners when a powdery substance came out of the envelope.
Shope said his assistant notified the Department of Public Safety, which took possession of the envelope.
