Attorney General Kris Mayes filed suit against the Cochise County Board of Supervisors and Recorder David Stevens, seeking to stop the recent agreement to organize the bulk of election duties under Stevens.  

The state elections director wants prosecutors to investigate and "take appropriate enforcement actions'' against two Cochise County supervisors who refused to certify election results by the deadline as legally required.

A judge on Tuesday tossed out Abe Hamadeh's legal bid to have himself declared the winner in the race for attorney general.

The Cochise County Board of Supervisors delayed its certification of the 2022 election after two Republican members sought evidence the tabulation machines used were “lawfully certified by an accredited lab.”  

Two Republicans who control the board in Cochise County on Wednesday told a judge they want to withdraw a lawsuit they had filed just two days prior that sought to force their own elections director to hand-count all the ballots cast in-person on Election Day.

Police are preparing for a crowd of between 25,000 and 50,000 people to protest at the Capitol this weekend that could draw the likes of Crosby, Stills Nash and, unfortunately, not Young. Rumor has it the famous trio of crooners will make an appearance, though it's not been confirmed. If Neil Young was expected to be here, I would be much more excited, frankly.
