New member joins Citizens Clean Elections Commission

Tom Collins is the executive director of the Arizona Citizens Clean Elections Commission.

A new member has joined the Citizens Clean Elections Commission after being appointed by former Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer during her last week in office.

DemocratAi??Damien R. Meyer will serve a four-year term on the commission. He is a Phoenix attorney who handles commercial, real estate and construction litigation.

Meyer replaces commissioner Louis Hoffman, also a Democrat. The other four current commissioners include another Democrat, two Republicans and an independent.

The commission announced Meyer’s appointment on Tuesday.

The commission oversees administration of the Citizens Clean Elections Act, including voter education and campaign finance programs. Members must not have run for or served in public office for five years. No more than two members of any political party or from the same county can serve at a time.var
