Arizona’s counties will post their first unofficial election results online at 8 p.m. Tuesday, one hour after polls close. In Maricopa County, the first batch of results is expected to reflect ballots received through last Saturday, according to Zach Schira, assistant county manager for elections and external affair.

A second release of results later Tuesday evening should reflect all ballots received through last Sunday. Results from in-person voting on Tuesday are then expected to be reported throughout the evening, Schira told reporters at a briefing on elections operations Monday.

Schira said the county will likely be counting ballots throughout the week. After Election Day, it’s expected that updated results will be published twice per day.

Similar processes will be playing out in counties around the state. The Arizona Secretary of State’s Office will begin posting statewide election results online after 8 p.m. Tuesday. — Rachel Ohm
